Headteachers Update 14th January 2022

The children are working hard behind the scenes to practice their showpieces for our ‘Hob Moor Oaks at the Movies’ event. We are staying very positive about this being a live event, but will need to make decisions nearer the time. We will share a letter next week about audience tickets and have everything crossed for the week after.

This week we have had 9 members of staff off with covid. This has massive impact on our structure. For children to be safe and happy in school they need familiar and well trained staff, occasionally we look to supply agencies to support us but this is not always the best option for our pupils. Sadly, every school is experiencing staff shortages so supply agencies cannot support us at this time. Thank you for your understanding and support as we plan creative ways to keep our pupils and staff safe with this new and very transmissible variant. I will continue to communicate via Parent Hub to inform you of a positive case in the classroom. From Monday the self isolation period changes again, I will send information out about this next week.

Louise Holdsworth from OT4Me continues to work on a Tuesday in school to assist our sensory processing support. This targeted support is paid for by our Recovery Premium. Our aims for this half term focus on sensory circuits, equipment within classrooms  and to evidence the impact the white room has on pupils accessing it. We aim to offer workshops to parents to give knowledge and ideas for home and leisure… look out for the dates for March 2022, we are hoping these can be face to face!
