Headteachers Update 15th October 2021

We cannot believe we are moving into our final week of the half term. The children have all settled in so well, our new starters are happy and building positive relationships, whilst our ‘originals’ have shown kindness, effective behaviours for learning and interaction skills to help their friends settle into new classrooms. We are very proud of all the children and I am super proud of the staff teams.

This week we have had a slight rise in COVID cases in school. We are contacting parents directly via parent hub when a case has been identified. We will only contact you to request a PCR if you child is displaying symptoms. This is in line with our risk assessments. We require the PCR results to be emailed into our admin address. Please note we cannot accept LFT tests as they are not a validated test for under 11’s. I am happy to discuss this with you if you have any questions. Out of courtesy to you and in the interest of our special school health and wellbeing, I will also contact families that may be affected via transport vehicles. This is a very difficult time for us all, hard decisions and conversations are needed at times, we aim to work with you to make the winter months manageable and reduce disruption to your child’s education.

On Friday 22nd October we will experience Halloween themed activities including a whole school outdoor pumpkin hunt. Class teachers will share class based information with you next week.
