Headteachers Update 18th June 2021

It has been hard this week to stay positive when our plans for supporting our Y6 transitions has been postponed again due to government restrictions. This  also impacts our 24 new starters. We continue to be challenged by these restrictions but fully respect why they have been extended. Our promise to you is that we will review our risk assessments and think of creative ways to make a visit to Applefields achievable and agreed by all stakeholders. Teachers and staff from Applefields are liaising with class teams to share information and make visits to HMO, following Lateral Flow Tests.  Our plans for an outdoor Leaver’s assembly are developing in line with risk assessments. The other event that is a hot topic at the moment is SPORTS DAY!  Sports Day CAN go ahead but it will happen within our bubbles. To allow parents to attend, this will mean our bubbles are class groups and will be a socially distanced event, no more than 30 people in total. Pop 2nd July 2021 into your diary and we will work our socks off to make the event a fun and celebratory one, albeit small!

A letter with more information regarding our COVID risk assessments and upcoming events including ‘meet the new team’ for your child’s September class team will be sent next week.
