Headteachers Update 21st January 2022

You are in for a wonderful treat next week for our production. Thank you to those parents who have responded to requests for costumes and props—the children look amazing! After seeing the dress rehearsal today, I am filled with joy and happiness, you are going to love it! A big thank you and well done to all the staff for powering through with gaps in teams this week… the show must go on!

We’ve had many magic moments across the school this week; Jack R successfully went swimming in the pool at Energise, Alfie B transitioned from the hall back to class walking with only an adults hand for support, Maja has loved her outdoor play this week with fabulous intensive interaction and seeing Otis & Diogo enjoying the hydrotherapy pool with their Mummies!

On Monday my visit from the NHS England Eye Care service was very successful. Gemma Kane, Optometrist at York District Hospital will write a letter to explain the difference between the two services. All pupils will still access Gemma’s services if your child is open to her. The NHS England scheme will provide screening on an annual basis, this will include dispensing of glasses too. I have a follow up meeting with the team on Monday to finalise the process. ‘About your child’s eyes’ paperwork will be sent after this meeting.
