Headteachers Update 5th February 2021

Sarah Jordan is a psychologist at CAMHS. She has many years experience working alongside children with Autism and their families. COVID has created many challenges and barriers to services that affect our families, however, sometimes silver linings happen and make for needed change. A new After Diagnosis (Autism) course that has recently been co-written by Sarah Jordan and the Specialist Teaching team, along with input from parents and service users. You may have previously attended ASCEND, this is now the updated version with the aim to make information freely accessible online. This has been achieved through the Recovery College. Staff in school will also be encouraged to get to know the training material and resources. It would be great to hear any feedback once you have accessed the course!

ADAPT is a course that is designed to support parents to understand the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in greater depth and gives a range of ideas and strategies to promote social and emotional development.  It is designed to support parents, manage challenges such as emotional regulation difficulties and increased anxiety levels.
