Headteachers Update 7th January 2022

Happy New Year to you all. I hope 2022 is going to be a happy and healthy one for us all.  Our January tradition (pre pandemic) to welcome the children back into school is to have a live pantomime performance from M&M productions. I am so happy to say this year we were able to welcome M&M back for a Christmas Carol production. This event marked the first time our school have been together in one space since 2020! It was rather emotional for me to see! The children and staff have overcome so many challenges during the pandemic and to be able to introduce the hall space to children who joined HMO within our 2020 and 2021 cohort was wonderful to achieve. The show was fantastic! For those who felt a little overwhelmed they watched part of the performance. Let’s hope this is a good sign for more school events. We have reviewed our risk assessment in relation to the Omicron variant and we will keep it under constant review. We will continue to work tirelessly to maintain our standards of education and safety as we learn to work alongside the new guidance and variant of Covid19. For those children and staff who have had Covid this week, we wish you a speedy recovery.
This term you will see your child engage in learning links to themes of transport, travel and journeys. This morning for our KS2 pupils they have experienced an ‘Ignition’ event to kick-start their curriculum drivers. The children engaged in imaginative and small world play activities to capture their interests and abilities ready to generalise skills, learn new things and tolerate a new learning space in school (this event took place in the hall which is a new space for many).  The Parents Community Hub on Tuesday will be an informal tea & chat. WEB will be there to support any discussions. I will pop in to say hello! Please LFT before you arrive.
