Headteachers Update 8th April 2022

Happy Easter everyone!

Today has been a Spring Eggstravaganza, children in Acorns class have met and welcomed four beautiful lambs into school and all   classes visited them. Trunks class had the delightful treat of feeding the lambs their lunch!
Well done to all the pupils who created an Easter bonnet or decorated an egg. The standards were very high! The winners for the bonnets were Joey MB & Diogo and for the egg decoration, the winner is Frank S. Congratulations to all three winners, enjoy your prize.
Today been an emotional week for staff and children across school as we have said goodbye and happy retirement to Julie Bainbridge and Carol Cooper. Julie has worked in York supporting children and young people with SEND for over 30 years. Her expertise and experience will be greatly missed! We wish her a very exciting retirement and travels in her campervan with family and friends! Carol joined HMO in 2018 after leaving a special school in Watford to relocate to York. Her enthusiastic play skills and creativity will be missed by all staff and especially many of the children on the KS2 playground at lunchtimes! Thank you to both Julie and Carol for everything they have given to the children, staff and families of HMO, we will miss you both! Enjoy your retirements.
It has been an exciting term, with the return of educational visits, live assemblies, face to face meetings, family events and Y6 residential coming back into school life. The sense of belonging and school community has returned and it is a great feeling! Thank you to all the staff for their efforts this term. It has been a memorable one. Enjoy your Easter holidays!
