Headteacher Update 11th October 2024
Dear Parents and Carers,
Improving punctuality – Getting the best possible start to each day for all children
We are keen to get the best possible start to each day for all our children at Hob Moor Primary. As such, I want the focus of my input on this newsletter to centre on the children being in school on time. Whilst for most children, this is always the case, it has become apparent that some families are routinely arriving late at school.
Our classroom doors open at 8:50am (8:45 for EYFS). As soon as the children reach class the day’s routines begin, the register is taken and learning starts. Children who arrive late are greatly disadvantaged because they miss starting the day with their peers and the beginning of lessons which means that they are often unsettled and confused. This also impacts on the progress of other children who arrive on time and are already settled in their learning.
We understand that there may be rare occasions when you are unavoidably late due to unforeseen circumstances. On these occasions, please make sure that you contact the school office, on 01904 806655, to inform us when you will arrive. If you are experiencing difficulties with punctuality, and would like to talk to us about it, please make an appointment to do so.
Many thanks for your continued support in the interests of all our children, who have had another super week in school.
Have a lovely weekend.
