Headteacher Update 12th May 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you have all enjoyed our Bank Holiday weekends and the small glimpses of summer we’ve had! Despite the lack of sunshine this week the children have cheered things up in their lovely summer uniform. As things warm up, just a reminder that summer dresses should be blue (and white) and shorts should be black or grey. Black legging shorts are for P.E. lessons only. We have some summer dresses in a range of sizes available in school, however these are limited so please get in touch if you would like to look at them. Jumpers and cardigans should be navy blue. We encourage children to bring sunhats and water bottles for break times.
As you know, we always encourage healthy eating and drinking in school, and ask that children only bring water to drink. Recently, after reading very worrying reports about the impact of PRIME drinks on children, we have been very concerned that some children have been bringing these energy drinks into school. These are not recommended for children under the age of 18.
Please can I also ask that nut products (including peanut butter) should not be included in packed lunches due to a number of children (and staff) having nut allergies. Thank you.
Finally, as we approach another weekend, I would like to share how proud I am of our Year 6 children who have been amazing this week. They have all approached their tests with positivity, determination and had a real team approach, supporting each other to give it their all. Hopefully the sun shines this afternoon so they can enjoy a well deserved treat. Well done everyone, and thank you to all the staff who have supported the children throughout.
Happy Weekend!
