Headteacher Update 14th June 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you all had a fantastic break and returned to school feeling refreshed & ready for the last half term of the academic year. We have lots of exciting learning experiences planned for the children to enjoy.

Half Term 6 is always a very busy time of the academic year as we complete our end of year assessments and prepare our children for the next stage in their education. Our whole school transition day will take place on Wednesday 3rd July. Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing with you your child’s new class and the name of their teacher.

The Year 6 children are really enjoying their sessions with the amazing York Dance Space and are working really hard to prepare a spectacular showstopper for their end of year festival. The festival will be an opportunity for the Year 6 children to showcase their talents to their families and share some special memories. We aim to produce a memorable experience which celebrates their journey through school.

This week, we have been incredibly proud of our Year 1 children who have completed their phonic screening test. Their enthusiasm and determination was a credit to you all. They were shining stars!

On Wednesday 10th July we look forward to welcoming our families into school for our Sports Day. Key Stage 2 will start in the morning, and Key Stage 1 & Reception will take place in the afternoon. Exact times will be sent nearer the day.
