Headteacher Update 27th September 2024

The children are now well and truly settled in their new teams, and it has been lovely to see how they are responding to the challenges of their new year group expectations. Later in the term, there will be an opportunity to meet your child’s class teacher. In the meantime, teachers are always accessible on the playground before and after school. If you are unable to make those drop off and collection times, and would like to discuss anything important, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via email or telephone.

This week has also seen our Year 6 children heading off on their Residential to PGL, Newby Wiske. I was lucky enough to spend Wednesday and Thursday with the children, and they were an absolute credit to the school. From the moment we arrived, they were so positive and determined to overcome their fears and they attacked challenges with a ‘can do’ attitude. The most impressive thing was how they encouraged each other and celebrated each other’s achievements. They will have undoubtedly made some lifelong memories. I expect they all slept well when they arrived home!

Back in school, we have been working on our REACH values, with the children  continuing to impress us with their improved behaviour. I have been amazed by the number of children who have already been on ‘WOW’ this year, and received their postcard home.
