Headteachers Update 1st October 2021

As  we move into October, we can see Autumn has definitely arrived!  I have very happy memories of walking to school as a child, collecting leaves and splashing in puddles with my sister and I know how much children love spotting the changing colours and conkers falling from the trees. With this in mind, we will be celebrating Walk to School Week from 11th  to the 15th October 2021 and entering the York competition for the Jack Archer Award . The winning school will be awarded the much coveted Trophy and £300 prize money to be spent on equipment to encourage active travel or sports.  As in previous years cycling and scooting counts so everyone can join in. This will also help our drive in school to keep children fit and healthy, coupled with reducing the number of cars parking in the car park and cutting down on harmful air pollution around. This is even more important now at a time when everyone is being encouraged to walk or cycle their journeys where they can and we are all struggling to find the petrol to fill up the car!
