Headteacher Update 20th September 2019

Happy Friday everyone!
We’ve had another busy week with lots of wonderful interactions across school. Pupils in our semi formal phase of learning have participated in a tour of York to develop their understanding of the city they go to school in.

Applefields School is the secondary special school in York, many of our pupils transition to Applefields . Applefields will be leading a parents  information evening on Tuesday 8th October, 3.30 pm for parents of pupils in Y4, Y5, Y6. Please inform class teachers if you are attending. HMO staff will be there to support.

Next week our pupils will be working hard on their bread creations to compete in our Harvest Festival celebration assembly. We will share with you the finished products! The competition is heating up between the staff so let’s see what ‘show stoppers’ the classes produce for us on Friday!

We would like to invite families to donate items such as tinned meat pies, tinned stews/curry/chilli, sponge puddings, UHT milk, chocolates/sweets or coffee for our Assembly. The children will be donating the food to the York Food Bank.

In addition to this, we are hosting a cake sale on Friday 27th for Macmillan Cancer Care, please donate any cakes/buns and don’t forget to send 50p in with your child to buy a scrummy treat! Have a lovely weekend.
