Headteachers Update 14th May 2021

As national restrictions are lifting next week we hope to re-evaluate our transition plans for year 6. We hope to be able to plan visits to Applefields and support more staff visiting HMO to continue the transition journey so far. Staff are developing wonderful ‘all about me’ scrapbooks to support information sharing too. I have requested some up to date photographs from Applefields to share with parents, as soon as I receive these I will distribute these electronically to you all. In addition to this, if you haven’t had an opportunity to visit Applefields and would like a show round, please contact Andy Kemp, Assistant Head to book a suitable time – akemp@applefields.york.sch.uk -if you have any questions that you feel HMO could answer, please do not hesitate to ask us, we strive to make your children’s transition to secondary school a successful one!

On Monday 17th, Sarah Taylor and I are reviewing our risk assessment, we will share any major changes with you via parent hub if required.

Finally, I would like to thank and congratulate Lynne Watson for receiving her Long Service Award. Lynne has been a valued member of staff for 22 years, this award gives recognition for her dedication and contribution to the education of children and young people.
