Headteachers Update 27th May 2022

This week has been incredibly busy as we have welcomed many visitors into our school. We have been recruiting for the role of Deputy Headteacher as Mrs Thompson shall be leaving Hob Moor in September as she moves, with her family, to the Yorkshire Moors, where she will be taking up the post of Head of School at Kirkbymoorside! We are both pleased for Mrs Thompson as she progresses to the next step in her career with a well-deserved promotion, but equally very sad to see her leave our school. However we are delighted to welcome our new Deputy Headteacher: Nina Hagen. Ms Hagen will be joining the school in September. During a rigorous selection process involving staff, pupils, governors, and our trust CEO, Ms Hagen stood out as the best candidate for Hob Moor and was the unanimous choice of all members of the selection panel. We look forward to welcoming her in September.

“Mrs Thompson said I would like to thank the children, staff and families at Hob Moor for the wonderful opportunities, memories and support they have given me during my time at Hob Moor. It has been an honour to teach our incredible children and work alongside such a talented, committed and caring staff team. I am delighted to welcome Ms Hagen to our school as I am sure she will love working with our amazing children, dedicated staff and will be welcomed by our Hob Moor families as she joins our very special school. I look forward to working with continued commitment during the next half term as we look to transitions for next year. Although I am sad to leave our school, I feel  excited for the children and staff as I know the skills and experience that  Ms Hagen will bring to our school will further enhance Hob Moor and ensure that it continues to be a fantastic place to work and learn”.
