Headteachers Update 13th May 2022

This week we have celebrated our courageous Y6 pupils during our Lea Green Awards evening. Many children come back into school to watch a wonderful presentation video of the memories we made and received special recognition awards. It was a special evening and I thank the families and staff members who came to make this a milestone in the lives of our Y6s. We will post the video onto our website for you to enjoy.

Next week we welcome Jessie’s Fund into school for our Pre Formal learners. Parents will have received a message inviting them to join us, please don’t worry if you can only attend some and not all, if you would like a grandparent to attend in your absence, please let your class team know via the care diary.

On Friday 27th March we will be having a Jubilee Street Party. You will receive royal invitations on Monday 23rd, but to help arrange your diary, parents and friends of HMO will be invited to join us at 1:30-2:30pm in our courtyard (weather permitting). Children and staff are invited to wear red, white, blue or dress as a princess/prince for the day!

In our Local Governing Body meeting this week we discussed a new initiative for raising our pupil attendance figures. We will launch ‘Be a Hob Moor Oaks ‘HERO’ by the end of this half term. HERO stands for—Here Everyday Ready On time. We have an information booklet and supporting guidance, this will be sent out and will be available on our website.

During our Parent’s Community Hub we had a VERY productive meeting regarding summer holiday activities, we have a small group of parents who are working with us to develop our vision. More to follow but we have a good feeling about this!
