Headteachers Update 24th June 2022

This week the sports day practice has intensified! I’m sure you will be very impressed. Thank you to Liz and Dan for planning a great event, we are really looking forward to welcoming you all back to our sports field – pray for good weather!

I’ve been on a lovely adventure this week, after two years of remote networking, I’ve had the opportunity to visit a school we’ve been working closely with. Cherry Garden School created the branch maps we use to assess the progress your children make. It has been great to meet their pupils and see another primary phased special school in action. I’ve come away even   prouder of the commitment staff at Hob Moor Oaks have towards our curriculum and the positive interactions our pupils receive on a daily basis. Our next steps for Autumn term is to work in collaboration with parents and carers to develop clarity in the termly  learning journey for your child so you are                 confident in what learning and progress looks on an individual level…watch this space.

Next week we welcome back the Applefields Apple Cart pop up shop. Parents and carers are welcome to visit school to help support this work experience.

Thank you to all the Y6 staff who are supporting our transitions to Applefields, there is such a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to prepare the children, share all our knowledge of the pupils and support the visits. We look forward to celebrating our amazing pupils during our leavers assembly. We still need to finalise plans for the event but just to give you time to plan, prior to the pandemic this was a real family event so grandparents or family friends are welcome to join us, we usually have capacity for 1 table per child, so approximately 4 adults per child.
