Headteachers Update 23rd September 2022

Although this has been a 4 day working week, it doesn’t feel like it! What a busy week it has been.  The children continue to develop their confidence to explore their new environments and build new friendships with peers through our theme of ’All About Me’, this is differentiated into key stages, EYFS, KS1, LKS2, UKS2. Your curriculum newsletter and class timetables will help you understand the learning that is taking place this half term and Tapestry will capture and celebrate the progress being made.

On our learning walks across the school we have observed such high levels of engagement. Many children across the school use ‘green to red’ timetables to provide visual instruction, this helps children to understand that is happening now and next but also gives reassurance for transitions. We would love to generalise these strategies to help manage behaviours or consolidate skills learnt in school. I am sure you will see many green to red timetables on photos within Tapestry observations. If you have any tricky times during your evenings or weekends and would like help with visual support and symbols, please let the teachers know via the Care Diary.

We look forward to welcoming you on Tuesday for our 1st Parents Community Hub of the academic year. Come and get to know other parents and share your experiences as families with SEND.

Thank you to those parents who joined us in today’s celebration assembly. It was lovely to share the celebration of your amazing children, we are all so proud of the individual learning journeys across our school.
We will be updating the website calendar with our whole school events for the academic year. We look forward to seeing you lots this year.
