Headteachers Update 28th January 2022

It’s hard to believe that we are very nearly at the end of January!  Christmas is a distant memory now but I’m sure lots of children are still enjoying new technological devices that Santa kindly delivered.  In school we continually look at what being safe online means and       encourage you all to take steps at home to protect your child(ren) from the risks that social media interactions may bring. Tuesday 8th February is Safer Internet Day when we will be discussing the theme ‘All fun and games?’ Exploring respect and relationships online! We will celebrate young peoples role in creating a safer internet, whether that is while gaming or interacting with their friends.  Recently we have been made aware of several concerns regarding this issue.

If you personally have any worries around this or any other queries on this matter please email us on admin.hmp@ebor.academy or speak to your child’s teacher.  As Covid restrictions are easing it is now ok to speak to staff on the door.  However if it is something you would prefer to speak about privately please call the school office on 806655 to make an appointment initially with the class teacher.  If they need support to resolve the issue, they will liaise with the phase leader, myself or the Well-being team.

All staff in school are always very busy at the start and the end of the school day and it is highly unlikely that staff will be available to speak to you at drop off or pickup time.

We want you to share any concerns and resolve them with you as quickly as we can, so please do speak to us.  Our primary and joint goal is to ensure our children are safe, happy and able to learn.
